High school teacher and Clear River Mayor Peter Suvak is a popular instructor and pillar of the community. But his integrity comes under fire when Kate McKinnon the mother of one of his students discovers he is teaching blatant racism. Determined to challenge his teachings, McKinnon undertakes a campaign to have him removed from the school. But Suvak's power as a member of the government is overwhelming and he is not giving up without a fight. As the controversy escalates, the government steps in and ultimately Suvak must account for his actions in a controversial trial in a court of law.
