A young girl is accused of stealing a silver spoon, and no one, including the girl, can say where the spoon has gone. A magpie is the thief, but the girl is tried, found guilty, and sentenced to death. When the bird steals a coin and is followed, the spoon is found in his hiding place, and the girl is freed.
