Toni sees the little girl as a chance to force Jerry to give up his criminal ways but he merely sees her as a nuisance...at first anyway. With Cooper playing against type the perfect comic timing of Lombard and the considerable charm of Temple NOW AND FOREVER is classical Hollywood at its most entertaining
